I've always been a big fan of Chinese food and was therefore glad to see that this take away offered food from all over China. Most Chinese eateries only serve Cantonese food, but little kitchen has dishes from Northern and Western China.
I've never been to mainland China so I don't know what the food is like there. I suspect that the food is geared towards British palettes.
I ordered lemon chicken, which is one of my favourite dishes. It came with boiled rice and the sauce had little pieces of pineapple in it. I prefer my lemon chicken garnished with some lemon slices as the pineapple makes the dish too sweet. I was surprised at how good it tasted overall and I will definitely be coming back here again next time I feel like a Chinese feast. -

Little Kitchen has held it's position in Balsall heath since taking over from Sam's Chip Shop and provides take away and delivery chinese food at a very reasonable rate.
I must admit, although I haven't explored all the items on the menu, all those that I have tried have been good and I have been eating there for some years without one complaint on the quality of food or service.
Not the only devotee, their delivery driver tells me they have regulars as far as Weoley Castle which says something of their reputation.
Cooking times are fast and if in the shop you can witness the din of the kitchen as silhouetted figures work from behind a screen separating kitchen and front of house.
In danger of causing upset i'd even go so far as to claim Little Kitchens superiority over it's nearest competitor in Moseley another victory for Balsall Heath there! -

Little Kitchen is a very solid little chinese takeaway. It's over in Balsall Heath but don't let that put you off if you're not a local as they deliver far and wide (I was in Digbeth when I ordered mine for delivery).
It's not the prettiest of places (chinese takeaways rarely are) but that is no reflection on the food at all. The delivery was quick (but not so quick as to cause suspicion regarding the cooking time!) and the food was all delicious. I had the mushroom curry with fried rice and it held it's own against any I have ever had. I'll definitely be a repeat customer!
